Salted Date Caramels Recipe

It is after the sugar rush, otherwise known as Christmas time.

However, just because the holiday season is over, it doesn’t mean you don’t need a small treat after dinner!

These salted caramels are only 3 ingredients! salt, dates, and chocolate!

Am not sure if you have ever made date caramel, but it is a game changer.

All you need is soaked dates to make them extra soft and a blender or food processor.

Simple as that.

I add a bit of flake salt to my caramel, but you can leave it out if salty treats are not your favorite!

Salted Date Caramels :

Ingredients:

1 Cup dates (soaked in hot water for 30 min)
Pinch of salt
1 cup vegan chocolate chips

How To Make the Salted Date caramels recipe

Add soaked dates to a food processor or high speed blender.

Blend on high for about 5 minutes or until the dates turn into a creamy caramel, that well looks like caramel!

Scoop the caramel out onto a parchment lined baking pan, about 1 Tbsp scoops.

OR spoon caramel into a ziplock bag and snip a corner, creating a diy pastry bag, squeezing the caramel into little dollops.

Freeze for 5 hours.

After 5 hours melt chocolate chips either in microwave or over the stove.

Take caramels out of the freezer and dip in the melted chocolate.

Place back on parchment lined pan and sprinkle with flake salt.

Place back in freezer for about an hour.

Store in refrigerator!
