This recipe is a South African favourite also known as Oumens onder komberse.
Any potato or rice pair well with stuffed cabbage, it can balance the vegetable flavors of the cabbage.Simple potato and rice side dishes work.
- white cabbage – 800 g.
- carrots – 2 pcs.
- Onions – 3 heads.
- tomatoes – 3 pcs.
- Rice – 1 glass.
- tomato juice – 2 glasses.
- vegetable oil – 3 tbsp. spoons.
- dill greens – 70 g.
- ground black pepper, salt to taste.
PREPARATION METHOD OF STUFFED CABBAGE ROLLS:
Disassemble the cabbage into leaves, scald them.
Cut the veins with a sharp knife, but carefully so as not to damage the leaves.
Cut onions and carrots into cubes and fry in oil with rice, pour half the norm of tomato juice and warm until the rice swells.
Add finely chopped tomatoes and herbs, salt, pepper and mix.
Stuff the mincedmeat on cabbage leaves.
Form cabbage rolls, put in a saucepan, pour half the remaining tomato juice diluted with water, cover and simmer for low heat for 40-50 minutes.
Serve with greenery.
